8 / 38 page DATA COMMANDS Standard Data Commands bq27510 SLUS816A – MARCH 2008 – REVISED JUNE 2008.......................................................................................................................................................... www.ti.com The bq27510 uses a series of 2-byte standard commands to enable system reading and writing of battery information. Each standard command has an associated command-code pair, as indicated in Table 1. Because each command consists of two bytes of data, two consecutive I2C transmissions must be executed both to initiate the command function, and to read or write the corresponding two bytes of data. Additional options for transferring data, such as spooling, are described in Section, I2C INTERFACE. Standard commands are accessible in NORMAL operation. Read/Write permissions depend on the active access mode, SEALED or UNSEALED (for details on the SEALED and UNSEALED states, refer to Section Access Modes.) Table 1. These additional bytes specify the particular control function desired. The Control( ) command allows the system to control specific features of the bq27510 during normal operation and additional features when the bq27510 is in different access modes, as described in Table 2.
