Functional Description

TheHT70xxA-3seriesisasetofvoltagedetectors

equippedwithahighstabilityvoltagereferencewhich

isconnectedtothenegativeinputofacomparator

denotedasVREFinthefollowingfigureforNMOS

outputvoltagedetector.

When the voltage drop to the positive input of

thecomparator(i,e,VB)ishigherthanVREF,VOUT

goeshigh,M1turnsoff,andVBisexpressedas

VBH=VDD×(RB+RC)/(RA+RB+RC).IfVDDisdecreasedso

thatVBfallstoavaluelessthanVREF,thecomparator

outputinvertsfromhightolow,VOUTgoeslow,VCis

high,M1turnson,RCisbypassed,andVBbecomes:

VBL=VDD×RB/(RA+RB),whichislessthanVBH.Byso

doing,thecomparatoroutputwillstaylowtoprevent

thecircuitfromoscillatingwhenVB≈VREF.

IfVDDfallsbelowtheminimumoperatingvoltage,the

outputbecomesundefined.WhenVDDgoesfromlow

toVDD×RB/(RA+RB)>VREF,thecomparatoroutputand

VOUTgoeshigh.

Thedetectablevoltageisdefinedas:

VDET(−)=(RA+RB+RC)/(RB+RC)×VREF

Thereleasevoltageisdefinedas:

VDET(+)=(RA+RB)/RB×VREF

Thehysteresiswidthis:

VHYS=VDET(+)−VDET(−)

NMOS Output Voltage Detector

ThefiguredemonstratestheNMOSoutputtypewith

positiveoutputpolarity(VOUTisnormallyopen,active

low).TheHT70xxA-3seriesalsosuppliesoptions

for other output types with active high outputs.

Applicationcircuitsshownareexamplesofpositive

outputpolarity(normallyopen,activelow)unless

otherwisespecified.
