General Description
TheHT7L5820/HT7L5821ishighlyintegrateddevice
whichincludesaPowerFactorCorrectioncontroller
andquasi-resonantflybackcontroller.Thehighlevel
offunctionalintegrationprovidesthemeansforvery
cost-effectivedesignswithaminimumofexternal
components.
InthePFCstagethedeviceusesatransitionmodeto
providearegulatedoutputvoltagewithlowsystem
costs,lowharmonicdistortionandhighpowerfactor.
ForQRflybackthedeviceprovideshigherefficiencies
andlowerEMIwhencomparedwithconventional
PWMsystems.
Thedevicealsoincludesarangeoffeaturestoprotect
thecontrollerfromfaultconditions.Theseinclude
secondarysideopen-loopandover-currentprotection,
VCCpinover-voltageprotection,DETpinover-
voltageforoutputover-voltageprotection,brown-
in/outACinputvoltage,internalover-temperature
shutdownandadjustableover-temperatureprotection
usingtheRTpinwithanexternalNTCresistor.
