AlsotherearethreeregistersrelatedtotheTimer/EventCounter2namedTMR2H,TMR2Land TMR2C.TheoperationsofreadingfromandwritingtotheTimer/EventCounter2registersnamed TMR2HandTMR2LarethesamewithTimer/EventCounter1describedabove. TheTxM0andTxM1bitsinTMRxCregisterwherexmaybeequalto0,1or2definetheoperation mode.Theeventcountmodeisusedtocountexternalevents,whichmeansthattheclocksource mustcomefromtheexternal(TMR0,TMR1orTMR2)pin.Thetimermodefunctionsasanormal timerwiththeclocksourcecomingfromtheinternalselectedclocksource. Finally,thepulsewidthmeasurementmodecanbeusedtocountahighorlowleveldurationofan externalsignalontheTMR0,TMR1orTMR2pinswiththetimingbasedontheinternallyselected clocksource.Intheeventcountortimermode,theTimer/EventCounterstartscountingatthe currentcontentsintheTimer/EventCounterandendsatFFHfor-8-bitcounterorFFFFHfor16- bitcounter.Onceanoverflowoccurs,thecounterisreloadedfromthetimer/eventcounterpreload register,andgeneratesaninterruptrequestflag,T0F,T1ForT2F.Inthepulsewidthmeasurement modewiththevaluesoftheTimerenablecontrolbitTxONandtheactiveedgecontrolbitTxE equalto“1”,aftertheTMRxpinhasreceivedatransientfromlowtohigh(orhightolowiftheTxE bitis“0”),itwillstartcountinguntiltheTMRxpinreturnstotheoriginallevelandresetstheTxON bit.Themeasuredresultremainsinthetimer/eventcountereveniftheactivatedtransientoccurs again.Therefore,onlya1-cyclemeasurementcanbemadeuntiltheTxONbitisagainset.Thecycle measurementwillre-functionaslongasitreceivesfurthertransientpulses.Inthisoperationmode, thetimer/eventcounterbeginscountingnotaccordingtothelogiclevelbuttothetransientedges. Inthecaseofcounteroverflows,thecounterisreloadedfromthetimer/eventcounterregisterand issuesaninterruptrequest,asintheothertwomodes,i.e.,eventandtimermodes.
