2 ABC Logic Self Calibration

T8100andT8300singlechannelsensorsemploythe

patentedABC(AutomaticBackgroundCalibration)Logic

self-calibrationsystem.ABCLogicvirtuallyeliminates

theneedformanualcalibrationinapplicationswhere

theindoorCO

2leveldropstooutsidelevelsduring

unoccupiedperiods(e.g.duringeveninghours).ABC

Logicisaspecialsoftwareroutineinthesensor

thatremembersthebackgroundreadingsfor14

consecutiveevenings,calculatesifthereisasensor

drift,andthencorrectsforit.

WithABCLogicenabled,thesensorwilltypicallyreach

itsoperationalaccuracyafter25hoursofcontinuous

operationataconditionthatisexposedtoambient

referencelevels.Sensorswillmaintainaccuracy

specificationswithABCLogicenabled,giventhat

itisatleastthreetimesin14daysexposedtothe

referencevalueandthisreferencevalueisthelowest

concentrationtowhichthesensorisexposed.

2 Calibration Guarantee

Telaireisseriousaboutminimizingmaintenance,so

eachsingle-channelsensor(T8100/T8300)comeswith

alifetimecalibrationguarantee.Andeachdualchannel

sensorhasatwo-yearcalibrationguarantee(T8200).

Calibration Interval

ForT8100andT8300series,nocalibrationisrequired

duetoABCLogic.ForT8200series,annualcalibration

isrecommendforthebestaccuracy.However,

mostapplicationsusingT8200seriescouldextend

thecalibrationinterval.Forthehumiditysensor,no

calibrationisrequired.Replacementhumiditysensors

are available.

IfaTelaire8000seriessinglechannelsensordriftsout

ofcalibrationrange,itcanbesentbacktoTelairefor

afreefactorycalibration.Furtherinformationonthe

guaranteeisavailableonourwebsite.

T8200 – Dual Channel

TheT8200dualchannelsensorcanbedescribedas

a CO

2channelthatmeasuresgasconcentrationand

areferencechannelthatmeasuresthesensorsignal

intensity.Thedualchannelsensorperformsperiodic

self-calibrationsusingthereferencechannel.Theself-

calibrationsareapproximatelyevery24hours.During

theself-calibrationthesensorppmreadingisfrozen,it

willnotreacttochangingCO

2.Thecalibrationtimeis

adjustablebutnominallytwominutes.

Telairerecommendsperiodicgascalibrationdepending

ontheapplicationaccuracyrequirements.Whilethe

referencechannelcorrectsforchangesovertime,a

fieldcalibrationusingnitrogengasoralternatively

ambientcalibrationwillimmediatelyrestorethehighest

levelofaccuracy.Refertothecalibrationmanualfor

details.
